These are absolutely her personal recipes converted for Thermomix® cooking!  Shamsydar was so skillful at mixing spices in the MasterChef show, that she earned the nickname Sambal Queen. Recently married, this photographer, foodie  and avid cook is particularly passionate about baking and cats! A strong believer that love is the food of life, she has branched into food photography recently and also started her food blog! Six episodes in and my dish gets called out for one of the top 3 dishes for the sixth time since we entered the @masterchefsg kitchen. My Laksmana Do Re Mi durian fritters with durian sambal and pickled buah salak was a hit with the judges, especially Chef Damien @the_rebel_chef, and it made my heart smile as much it did his. I nearly won this challenge but alas, @gen_lxn put up a tough fight with her Durian Croquembouche. . When we entered the elimination challenge knowing that we have to replicate Chef Bjorn @bjornshen Balls, Belly and Squash, I was brought back to the Asian Bisque challenge with Chef Ming. But truth be told, this one was a lot easier because we had the recipe and we could taste the final dish. . As much as the Top 5 is a family, it is still a competition and we had to bid farewell to @aaronwong.sg, a fellow creative and force to be reckon with at the start of the competition. . Honestly, I never saw myself being in the Top 4 of Masterchef Singapore. Getting that callback one fateful morning after submitting the application form the previous night was not just lucky or coincidence. I truly believe The Universe made it easier for me to say yes to being part of this show and eventually make it this far. . Here’s the thing: I’m get excited and happy in the kitchen. For years, I’ve had friends tell me to sell the things I cook or bake because they enjoyed it. When I got on @masterchefsg, they weren’t too surprised. But now they’re telling me to stop being a chicken nugget and just do it. . So thanks to a dear friend who has been encouraging me and even offering her space to crash, I’ve decided to unleash the Cookie Monster in me. Just cookies. Nothing fancy, nothing atas – just good old cookies in three flavors that will have you finish it in one sitting. Trust me, I’ve seen it with my very eyes. .
