Make your own homemade chicken rice porridge (or congee) using Thermomix®! Porridge is used to promote good health and strong digestion. According to TCM, porridge is easily digested and assimilated. It harmonizes digestion and also supplements blood and qi (life energy). It provides nourishment, relieve inflammation and nourish the immune system.

It is perfect for cooking and sharing with your family at a low cost!

Chicken Porridge


  • 180 g white rice, rinsed
  • 1 tsp salt, adjust to taste
  • 2 tsp sesame oil (dark roasted)
  • 150 g whole chicken breast
  • 2 tsp chicken stock powder
  • 1500 g water
  • 1 – 2 pinches white pepper powder, adjust to taste
  • 1 sprig spring onion, chopped, to garnish


  1. Place white rice, salt, sesame oil, chicken breast, chicken stock powder and water in mixing bowl, placing simmering basket instead of measuring cup onto mixing bowl lid to help prevent splashing, cook 25 min/98°C/speed 1.
  2. Shred 10 sec/Reverse/speed 4. Add white pepper powder to taste. Garnish with spring onion. Serve hot.
