Discover 7 daily tips and tricks to get the most out of your Thermomix® Varoma
The Varoma is ideal for multi-level and steam cooking. Highlight the flavour of delicate fish or vegetables to ensure a perfectly juicy end result, steam a variety of desserts, and so much more.
1. Cook rice and steam cakes in the Varoma
You simply need a heat resistant cake form or dish that fits inside the Varoma dish and allows you to close the lid to ensure proper cooking. Check out our delicious Steamed Raspberry Jam Pudding
2. The Varoma ia also a strainer (salad spinner)
After washing vegetables, you can use the Varoma with the lid to shake well and remove excess water.

4. Cook dishes in layers to save time
Cook more efficiently by add more dishes into the Varoma dish and tray to cook simultaneously with the food cooking in the mixing bowl. Example : cook soup in the mixing bowl, while steaming a meat and vegetable (egg) dish in varoma. Try this Hainanese Chicken Rice recipe.
5. Make more servings
Use the Varoma dish, the Varoma tray and the mixing bowl altogether in order to maximise the quantity of ingredients that can be used in your recipes. Example : Steam cut potatoes while cooking a maximum quantity of curry chicken in the mixing bowl.
6. Drain vegetables and pasta/noodles with your Varoma
Use the Varoma as a colander for cooked pasta or vegetables.
7. Line the Varoma with the Thermomix® parchment paper
Enjoy the delicious juices of your perfectly steamed ingredients. Parchment paper captures the juices and prevents them from mixing in with other ingredients in the mixing bowl. To perfectly line your Varoma, wet the parchment paper before placing it in the tray or dish. Remember to leave a small area of the Varoma tray or dish uncovered to ensure proper steam circulation.
